Our Wedding: The Reception

You can view the previous posts here: Getting Ready :: The Ceremony :: Group Photos

We had a morning wedding, so our reception was brunch-style.
All the bests from breakfast and lunch.
Woot woot!
Even though it was early, we served mimosas and busted moves on the dance floor like it was 1999... or 9:00.

Since our bridal party was half Minnesotan / half Floridian, we had a "meet the bridal party" station set up.
I asked each of our bridesmaids and groomsmen questions about themselves, as well as their favorite memory with Jeremiah and I.
The amazing Elle designed them for me.
They were a hit!

 ^^Best Man + MOH^^

Exhibit A of geeky:  we walked out to "September" by Earth Wind & Fire.

^^We danced to "I've Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher^^

^^I think YaYa had more fun than we did -- she was so sassy^^
We will always cherish the memories we made with her that day.

^^My brother composed a waltz for my father and I to dance to^^
It was so special + touching to know that the song belonged to my dad and me.

There was also quite a bit of dancing to the "Friends" theme song {a wedding tradition in our group}...
...as well as a custom rendition of  NSYNC's "I Want You Back"
Oh yes.

Our groomsman, Ryan, and I have always been the goofiest in Jeremiah's group, and we don't hesitate to crack out our dance skillz at any time.

At first we weren't going to do the whole garter toss/bouquet thing, but everyone was pretty into it, so we changed our minds at the reception.

YaYa said that Jeremiah was doing it all wrong, though, so she removed the garter and showed him how it was done.
Love that woman.

^^And it's all fun and games until your MOH and brother in law make you cry^^

The cake was cut, and by that time I was a hot sweaty mess from dancing off the pancakes.
Our guest count was small enough that we could spend time with each table and have actual conversations,
which was amazing.  When it was time to say goodbye, our DJ put everyone in a circle around the dance floor, and had Jeremiah and I go around to each person for a hug {it was a race}.
We loved it!  And I think our guests appreciated it, too.

We spent the rest of the day/evening hanging out in the resort pool with friends,
and I may have gotten a huge migraine and got sick in the honeymoon suite and passed out at 10:00.
Oh, the stress!
Brides to be: everything will be perfect.  Do not freak out.

Then, we were off to Mexico!

Whew!
It truly was the happiest day of our lives.
But wait, there's more!
We had another reception in Minnesota, and that recap is coming soon.

Marathon wedding planner right here, y'all.
That's right, I said y'all.
