Can you believe Christmas has come and gone?
It went by so fast!
Hopefully you had a wonderful holiday with the ones you love.
And hopefully you don't have to work today.
I do. Which just sucks.
We have been considering adopting another dog to cut down on day care costs for Lily --
and because we gotta lotta love to give.
We browsed the humane society website and we saw this 7 year-old Irish Setter who had just been "owner surrendered."
Instant love.
So, we rescued him.
His name is now Sheldon (after The Big Bang Theory).
{pathetic, yes.}
He is the sweetest, most gentle dog I have ever met.
He loves to love.
And he's found his forever home with us.
Now, if he would only play with Lily that would be awesome.
But, he's been through so much --
aaand, you know she's crazy.
We spent most of the weekend caring for Sheldon...
Bathing him, brushing him, and cutting out awful knots of hair.
Other than that, we spent Christmas eve and Christmas day with Jeremiah's parents and extended family.
Lots of good food + lots of laughter.
Still, Christmastime doesn't seem complete without my family in Florida.
Thank goodness for Skype, though. I'd be a blubbering mess without it.
We also exchanged gifts. But we drastically reduced Christmas spending this year.
With everything going on in the world today, it puts into perspective what Christmas is all about.
Cuddling with our pups and the cats was absolute perfection.
Oh, and this book. Which will never leave our coffee table because it makes me giggle...
How was your Christmas?

Beautiful dog! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, the underwater dogs book = hilarious! :)

ReplyDeleteOne day I would love to forever home a dog but living in a condo, I don't deem it fair for an animal like that yet. But when I get a house, I plan on it! Cute addition! :)
